This entry is not a statement, it is a question. Has anyone ever done the research on how much damage is done to children by tying them down and restraining them?
When I was a small child, (I'm 63 now), my mother and I met another child in a market who was restrained by a harness and leash. My mother was horrified. While she paddled my butt occasionally when I misbehaved, she would never have considered putting me on a leash.
Now we have mandatory "restraint" systems in our cars. Will such protection of the physical body result in "improvement", or will it merely prevent the development of freedom loving people, much as the frequent drugging of children results in obedient slaves.
Again, has anyone done the research? Or do we not care what type of subhumans we create as long as leashes and drugs produce proper slaves?
I personally (with a little help from my wife) raised 4 children. Not one was ever tied down by me, nor were any drugged to improve their "behavior". Butts were occasionally spanked. I was obviously out of step with modern society, but was I wrong?
Our police obviously believe that restraint in cars is required, and fine people who don't comply. "clickit or ticket". Are they right, or do they merely want us to raise compliant slaves?
