WMD's

Did Bush lie? Start at the beginning. What is a lie? An untruth told intentionally, by one who knew it was untrue. So to prove that the statement "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction" was a lie, two facts would have to be proven. First, that no weapons of mass destruction existed, and second, that Bush knew it.

The first statement is, for practical purposes, TRUE. Iraq had, at the time we invaded, no "locked and loaded" WMD's ready for use, although we may find more remnants from old wars. The second part, however, that Bush knew that, would require an assumption we cannot make. What if he believed our "intelligence"?

Intelligence, be it CIA, FBI, or others, is incredibly stupid, to the point that it was unable to predict 9/11. How could anyone expect that it would know whether Saddam Hussein had WMD's or not? President G. W. Bush said when we invaded Afghanistan that we would soon find Osama Bin Laden. After much bombing of caves, he wasn't found.
Then on to Iraq. We, and G. W. Bush, were told that Saddam had WMD's. Intelligence, as usual, was wrong. Intelligence gave Saddam's location. Repeatedly. Again, Intelligence was wrong.

I have no proof that G. W. Bush lied. He may have just believed his "intelligence".

I believe that anyone who believes government intelligence is stupid. President G. W. Bush is either stupid or a liar, and I choose the most likely possibility, that he is stupid. Any person who got "average" grades in college is how smart, anyway? Smart enough to write his own blog? I doubt it. The biggest problem with G. W. Bush is that he believes things like government intelligence, the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny, and Santa Claus. I'd rather believe he's a stupid man than an evil one, but I don't wish to be led by either.
